Are there opportunities to meet with local people or visit real African villages?
There are many opportunities for cultural interaction. SLA can arrange tours to local schools, markets, and villages. Village visits may last a few hours. In some cases guests may participate in daily chores such as planting trees, preparing African dishes, or sitting for hours around a smoky fire listening to stories, many people feel that their lives are forever changed by this experience. Please note however many safari camps and lodges are located far from human settlement and offer no cultural interaction with locals.
