Africa Wilderness Safari

A safari into two relatively unknown Southern Tanzania game reserves of Selous, Africa’s largest game reserve and Ruaha which offers fantastic game viewing. With permanent rivers in the two reserves, there is abundant wildlife. An ideal safari for those wishing to leave the beaten track to discover the wilderness of Africa.

Day 1 Collection from Nairobi Airport and transfer to Holiday Inn (Westlands) where you will spend the night.

Day 2, 3 & 4 The following day fly to Kilimanjaro airport where you will connect with the flight to Selous Game Reserve. This reserve contains the greatest concentration of big game animals left in the world today. Three nights will be spent at the luxury Selous Safari Camp having 12 tents, all with en-suite facilities, and mounted on wooden decks where you will be able to sit and relax. Game viewing will be by flat bottom boat in addition to the usual game drives in four wheel drive vehicles and walking safaris.

Day 5 & 6 Fly by light aircraft to the game reserve of Ruaha, a remote wilderness in Tanzania. Two nights will be spent at the River Lodge, set in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the banks of the Ruaha River offering one of the prime game viewing areas of the reserve. The lodge is built from local stone. The rooms are individual thatched rondavels each with en-suite facilities. Game drives are by four wheel drive vehicles. Escorted walks along the river bank can be organized at extra cost.

Day 7 Return to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight to Nairobi where you will connect with your onward flight back home. Alternatively if time allows take an optional Nairobi excursion or extend to the Indian Ocean Coast of Mombasa, Malindi, Lamu or Zanzibar
