THE EXUBERANT NATURE OF THE EAST
An original fauna from the prehistoric epoch and homeland of unique plants in the world, the reserve of ANALAMAZAOTRA endowed of an impressive endemic richness is worth seeing. Further in the green hell of the east coast, a bigamous land blended with the ocean and the channel , Akanin’ ny Nofy or « Nest of Dream » is a real haven of peace scattered in a wild and mysterious nature.
The «Ile Boraha» or «Sainte Marie» is an oasis of greenness with wildbeaches occupied by some fishermen villages with a traditional and secular way of life.
Great possibility of diving for submarine lovers near to the reefs covered by wrecks.
July to September is the best time to see humpbacked whales. Sainte Marie was formerly pirates' den .
Day 1 EUROPE -ANTANANARIVO-ANDASIBE
Assistance during formalities. Transfer to AUBERGE DU CHEVAL BLANC for a day use
After lunch, departure to ANDASIBE (Perinet). Along high gorges and undulating plains , the itinerary to the East is more wooded because of abundant precipitation. Arrival at Perinet late in the after noon .
Dinner and night at FEON ‘NY ALA.
The forest of ANALAMAZAOTRA is the sanctuary of the INDRI INDRI and we can see other species oflemurs . Extreme rarity of indigenous species of birds. Fern is especially dense: fern, epiphyt plants and an endemic variety of orchids. Interesting walk in made-up paths of a primary forest.
Visit of the village of Perinet.
Day 2 PERINET - MANAMBATO
Early in the morning , after the breakfast , another incursion into the forest to observe birds and to hear the impressive squeal of Indri.
Continuation to Manambato. Transfer by motorboat to Akanin' ny Nofy by the lake of Rasoabe.
Accommodation on full-board basis at the hotel.
Day 3 MANAMBATO
Stay free at leisure.
Walk along the white sand beach and the serenity of a wild nature.
Accommodation on full-board basis at the hotel.
Day 4 MANAMBATO - AKANIN’ NY NOFY – TAMATAVE.
After lunch, departure by motorboat on the Canal des Pangalanes to Tamatave.
Crossing typical villages along the shore among Pandanus and Ravenales.
Arrival at the fluvial harbour of Tamatave. Transfer to the hotel.
Dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 5 TAMATAVE – SAINTE MARIE.
Drive to Soanieran'Ivongo , transfer by speed baot to Sainte Marie ( 1 hour)
Arrival at Sainte Marie, transfer to hotel.
Accommodation on half-board basis at the hotel.
Sainte Marie is a real little tropical paradise. An authentic island with wild beaches occupied by fishermen village with traditional and secular way of life. It was also a large den of pirates who had good contact with the natives . Walk from village to village, wild and pure creeks.
We can visit the pirates’ cemetery, “Île aux Forbans” and, mainly, observe the whale migration between July and September.
Day
6 - 7 SAINTE MARIE.
Free day.
Two nights with half-board accommodation at the hotel.
Day 8 SAINTE MARIE – ANTANANARIVO - continuation
Transfer to the airport for the Antananarivo's flight.
